A practice built around
how care should feel.
Oceanside Pulmonary opened its doors on the Treasure Coast with one aim: to make excellent specialist lung care easier to reach, and more personal once you get there.
We’re glad you’re here.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based pulmonary and critical care medicine. We are committed to individualized care, improving access for our patients, and building strong, lasting relationships - focusing on prevention, accurate diagnosis, and long-term lung health.
We look forward to caring for you and your family.
To provide compassionate, high-quality, easily accessible, and evidence-based pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine through a patient-centered model.
To redefine respiratory and critical care delivery by being the leading patient-centered pulmonary practice on the Treasure Coast - integrating modern care models that improve outcomes and reduce barriers to access and specialty care.
Nicholas James, D.O.
Pulmonary Medicine · Critical Care · Internal Medicine
Dr. Nicholas James founded Oceanside Pulmonary to practice medicine the way he believes it should be practiced - unhurried, thorough, and genuinely personal. He is board certified in pulmonary, critical care, and internal medicine, and built the practice as a dedicated outpatient lung clinic rather than a general one.
That focus matters most when things get complicated. Whether you are being worked up for a nodule, managing COPD over years, or recovering after a hospital stay, the goal is the same: fewer handoffs, clearer answers, and a plan that fits your life.

Raising a family on the coast he cares for.
Outside of medicine, Dr. James considers being a father his most important job. He and his wife are raising their three children on the Treasure Coast, and he cherishes the time spent watching them grow, coaching them through new experiences, and simply being present for the everyday moments of family life. He hopes these experiences will shape his children into people who care for their community and others the same way he cares for his patients.
The family enjoys exploring the Treasure Coast together - boating, fishing, and soaking in everything the coastal lifestyle has to offer - as well as traveling to different countries as a family, giving their children a broader view of the world.
When he does carve out time for himself, Dr. James enjoys staying active through golf, being outside, cooking, bowling and reading.
We’d be glad to meet you.
